Setup

1. Shuffle the deck and deal 11 cards to each player. 2. Place the remaining cards face down in a pile in the center of the table. This is the draw pile. 3. Turn over the top card of the draw pile and place it face up next to it. This is the discard pile.

Gameplay

1. The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by drawing a card from the draw pile or taking the top card from the discard pile. 2. The player then melds cards from their hand into combinations, such as sets (three or more of the same rank) and runs (three or more cards in sequence of the same suit). 3. Melds must be laid face up on the table in front of the player. 4. Players can also meld cards from their hand to melds that have already been laid down by other players. 5. If a player melds a card from their hand to a meld that has already been laid down by another player, they must draw two cards from the draw pile. 6. The first player to meld all of the cards in their hand wins the game.

Scoring

* Set: 10 points * Run: 1 point per card * Canasta (7 cards of the same rank): 500 points * Red 3: 100 points * Black 3: 50 points

Winning

* The first team to reach 5,000 points wins the game.

Tips for Playing Canasta on Video Call

* Use a video conferencing platform that allows you to see all of the players at once. This will make it easier to keep track of the melds and the cards that have been played. * Be clear and concise when communicating with your partner. It's important to be able to discuss your strategy and make decisions quickly. * Don't be afraid to ask for help from your partner. They can help you find melds and make decisions. * Have fun! Canasta is a great game to play with friends and family.
