Corrie Herring Hooks is home to a wide variety of bird habitats, including tropical forests, wetlands, and grasslands. This makes it a great place to see a wide variety of bird species, including many that are difficult to find elsewhere in Belize.

Getting to Corrie Herring Hooks

Corrie Herring Hooks is located in the northern part of Belize, about 2 hours from Belize City. The reserve can be reached by car or by boat.

To get to Corrie Herring Hooks by car, take the Northern Highway out of Belize City. After about 2 hours, you will reach the town of Corozal. From Corozal, take the Corozal-Corozalito Road for about 10 minutes. The entrance to Corrie Herring Hooks will be on your left.

To get to Corrie Herring Hooks by boat, take a boat from Belize City to Sarteneja. From Sarteneja, you can take a short boat ride to the reserve.

There are a number of lodges and guesthouses located near Corrie Herring Hooks. These include:

  • The Lodge at Chaa Creek
  • The Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge
  • The Belize Birdwatching Lodge
